CNC Plasma Cutter and Brake Operator
LaX Industries LLC is seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Cutter and Brake Operator to join our growing metal fabrication team in Spring Grove, MN. This position plays a critical role in the production of high-quality EV charging substations, canopies, cooling substations, manifolds, and other custom fabricated metal products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating CNC plasma cutting systems (such as PythonX) and press brakes, capable of producing precise parts from blueprints while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This is a full-time position available on both first and second shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC plasma cutters (including PythonX systems) and press brakes to cut, form, and shape metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, job orders, and work instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and required operations.
- Load and unload materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform routine maintenance.
Adhere to all safety policies, ISO 9000 quality standards, and maintain a clean work area. - Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and quality teams to meet production schedules.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC plasma cutters and/or press brakes in a metal fabrication environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, nesting software, and PythonX systems preferred.
- Forklift and overhead crane certification (or ability to obtain).
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75 lbs occasionally), bend, stoop, and work in a manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.

Welder/Fabricator
LaX Industries is now looking for a talented Metal Welders/Fabricators to work first and second shift building high-quality metal components for our clients. LaX is a growing company and adding a second shift to meet the increased demand.
As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products. You may also be required to set up fabricating machines and design custom templates.
To ensure success as a Welder/Fabricator with LaX Industries, you should have a good eye for detail, be able to work independently as well as in a team and have a good attitude and communication skills.
Ultimately, a top-class Welder/Fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications.
Welder/Fabricator Requirements & Responsibilities:
We are open to candidates with previous work experience as a Welder and/or Fabricator, as well as beginners with some welding fabrication education or experience. Having earned welding or fabricating qualifications is always preferred.
You should also have:
- Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Fabricating and constructing metal components.
- Performing quality checks on completed products.
- Conforming with state and company safety regulations.
- Experience in metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses is an advantage
- Knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures is an advantage.
Pay is dependent on your level of experience and knowledge.
